On the 265th day of 2015, the impending arrival of Pope Francis in Philadelphia was evident everywhere I turned. 9/22/15 was a normal day at work, but the traffic is getting worse, the posts on FB, more plentiful, and the port-a-potties are EVERYWHERE. Amidst all the buzz, I do appreciate the connection that so many people feel to the Pope. Although I think they may place too much importance into one human being, it is inspiring to see the joy he brings when he arrives. I pray that his visit here inspires people to see religion as a means to connect people to each other (yes, even of different beliefs), and not a divisive force. That is certainly how I wish to live out my faith.
