Crises Connect

11/13/15 was the third Friday the 13th in 2015.  And Friday the 13th is not usually unlucky for me, but, tonight, the 317th day of 2015 was unlucky for the World.  The attacks in Paris sadden me, but, they also connected me.  Connected me to people I did not even know were in France, but FB told me they were OK.  Connected me to people at Penn who banded together to offer services to students who may have been affected.  And connected me to people I do not even know, the residents of Paris, who are in my thoughts and prayers tonight.  I am NOT happy that a crisis has occurred, but I can stop and appreciate how crises bring people together and connect them to do good.  Would that this good and light can shine brighter than the terrorist evil this evening....
